Strictly 2015 Finalists – Katie and Anton

Time for our penultimate look at the finalists ahead of Saturday’s final. This time it’s the turn of Katie and Anton. Yes you read that right, Anton is in his first ever final!!!!! Not sure if that’s been mentioned before on the show or not…..

Best Dance

Unsurprisingly both of their highest scoring routines were ballroom dances. The first was their American Smooth during week 9 at Blackpool which scored 35 (8,9,9,9). They matched that score during week 11’s Quarter Final with their Foxtrot with the judges scoring it an identical 35 (8,9,9,9)

Worst Dance

Anton may be the king of Ballroom and it suits Katie too but their latin has not been as good. Week 3’s Cha Cha scored just 20 points (4,6,5,5)

Average Score

Ignoring pointless elements like the Quickstepathon, Katie and Anton have amassed 364 points across 13 routines making for an average score of 28. This is the lowest average of the four finalists and a lower average than Peter and Janette, Anita and Gleb and Helen and Aljaž all of whom have been eliminated!

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

Katie and Anton have survived one dance off during last week’s semi final which they survived by 3 votes to 1 (Craig) against Anita and Gleb. During the Dance Off they chose to redo their Waltz which previously scored 31 (8,9,7,7)

Odds Of Winning

At the time of writing Katie and Anton are the least likely to win at 18-1 and are favourites to finish in fourth place at 8/11. If you fancy a flutter Coral will give new customers a £20 free bet when you stake £5 on Strictly or any other market.

They are currently sitting in 3rd on my poll of who you want to win with 12% of the vote and 3 votes ahead of Kellie and Kevin in 4th place.

Can they win? It would probably take a very strong final for them to do so and the only way they can do that is if they only have Ballroom. I don’t doubt for one minute that their show dance and their choice routines will be Ballroom but the judges choice may throw a spanner in the works. We probably shouldn’t underestimate Anton’s popularity though and I’m sure many of his fans will be voting for him in his first final so even though they may be the weaker couple on paper we probably shouldn’t discount them. 18-1 is a quite attractive price and it may be worth a couple of quid just in case they do have a good final and the public gets behind them. Everyone loves an underdog right?

Do you agree? Do you want Katie and Anton to win? Let me know in the comments.

Strictly 2015 Finalists – Jay and Aliona

Time for the second in the series where I take a look at the four finalist’s Strictly journey so far. This time it’s the turn of Jay and Aliona

Best Dance

A lot of people consider their week 3 Jive to be their standout dance which scored 37 (9,9,9,10) however the judges scored their week 11 Rumba higher with a score of 39 and Craig being the only judge not to reach for the 10 paddle (9,10,10,10)

Worst Dance

Falling slightly from grace after the Jive, their worst performing dance was the Quickstep from week 4 which scored 25 (5,7,6,7)

Average Score

Discounting the quickstepathon Jay and Aliona have scored a total of 435 points across 13 dances which makes for an average score of 33.5

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

Jay and Aliona are the only finalists this series to have never been in the dance off.

Odds Of Winning

At the time of writing Jay and Aliona are clear odds on favourites to lift the glitterball at 2/9. If you fancy a flutter Coral will give new customers a £20 free bet when you stake £5 on Strictly or any other market.

Again at the time of writing 55% of visitors to this site want them to win in the latest poll currently running.

With one or two exceptions Jay and Aliona have been the favourites to win since their Jive. They’ve also won all but a small handful of the polls this site has run. Which surely makes them certs for the glitterball right? Well probably. Of course anything could happen in the final and there’s several voters who will vote purely on the merits of the final so we probably shouldn’t be handing them the glitterball quite yet. But of all the finalists Jay and Aliona are clearly the most likely to win at the moment

Do you agree? Do you want Jay and Aliona to win. Let me know in the comments and stay tuned for a roundup of the remaining two finalists later in the week!

Strictly 2015 Finalists – Kellie and Kevin

The final is only a few days away and it’s time to take a look at the finalists. Starting with Kellie and Kevin (from Grimsby).

Best Dance

Kellie and Kevin’s highest scoring dance came in last week’s Semi Final for their American Smooth which had all the judges except Craig reaching for their 10 paddles scoring 39 (9,10,10,10)

Worst Dance

As it should be, you have to go back to the start of the series with week 1 and 2 achieving their lowest scores of 27 for both their Tango and their Cha Cha (6,7,7,7 for both routines)

Average Score

Discounting the quickstepathon which doesn’t count for anything Kellie and Kevin have amassed 426 points across 13 dances making for an average score of 32.8

Number Of Times In The Dance Off

Kellie and Kevin have survived two dances offs which are also the first dance offs that Kevin has faced in his Strictly career. Firstly in week 7 after their Waltz which scored 32 (8,8,8,8). They were unanimously saved by the judges in the dance off against Carol and Pasha. Their second dance off came in week 10 after their Salsa which scored 34 (8,8,9,9) and the quickstepathon (2). They again unanimously survived this dance off against Peter and Janette.

Odds Of Winning

At the time of writing Kellie and Kevin are a 11-1 shot to lift the glitterball with Coral and are 6/4 to finish in 4th place. If you fancy a flutter Coral will give new customers a £20 free bet when you stake £5 on Strictly or any other market.

Again at the time of writing 12% of visitors to this site want them to win in the latest poll currently running.

The Eastenders vote tends to do ok in Strictly but I don’t think it will get them to the glitterball unless they have an amazing final and even that may not be enough. Do you agree? Do you think Kellie and Kevin can win? Do you want them to win? Let me know in the comments!
