I’m rocking these out faster than The BBC with the contestant announcements so here is the final part in my series where we look at the couples in tonight’s final and their Strictly journey so far. We will be taking them in the no particular order of qualification for the final so we finish with…… Jamie and Karen
Worst Dance
We have to go back to week 1 for their worst routine. Their Cha Cha Cha didn’t impress the judges scoring just 14 points (4,5,5)
Best Dance
There’s a bit of a trend developing here as their best routine was a couple’s choice in the style of street/commercial. Just like every other finalist! Back in week 5 it scored 29 (9,10,10)
Average Score
Jamie and Karen have amassed a total of 204 points from 9 dances making for a 3 judge average of 22.7. Weighting for 4 judges this makes an average of 30.2. This is the lowest average of all the finalists and is also lower than eliminated couple Ranvir and Giovanni
Number Of Times In The Dance Off
How long have you got? Jamie and Karen have broken all kinds of Strictly records falling into the dance off in more than half of the dance offs this series. A total of 4 times!
First was during week 2 when they fell into the dance off. Their American Smooth (5,6,6) was enough to see off Jacqui and Anton.
They next fell into the dance off in week 6 following their Tango (8,8,8). In a split decision dance off they saw off Clara and Aljaž
They found themselves in the dance off again the following week after their Jive (8,8,8). This time they saw off JJ and Amy in another split decision
Finally they found themselves in the dance off for the 4th time and the 3rd consecutive time during last week’s semi final. This time they dispensed with Ranvir and Giovanni after performing their Salsa (8,8,8).
Can They Win?
No couple has ever won after being in 4 dance offs. That said no couple has ever reached the final after surviving so many dance offs either. The previous record was 3 which was held by Ashley Roberts and others.
Bookies have them as a 40-1 outsider. But stranger things have happened especially in 2020 so maybe we shouldn’t write them off yet. But its going to take an incredibly strong final and a shift in public voting for them to have a chance of being the ones to lift the glitter ball tonight
What do you think of Jamie and Karen? Will you be cheering them on to the glitter ball tonight? You can let me know your thoughts about them in the comments or why not head on over to Facebook or Twitter to join the communities there for your chance to win a £50 voucher!
Providing this site is still going to cost me close to £1000 this series especially as I now have to maintain powerful servers on Sundays as well as Saturday night due to increased demand across Sunday! I always stress this on the donation links but it is more important than ever in 2020 that you only consider helping me out with these costs if you can afford to do so. I would not want to cause anyone else hardship because they chose to help me out. However all donations are as ever gratefully received. You can make a one time donation by clicking on THIS LINK or using the button below:
Also new for 2020 you can make a regular donation by becoming a patreon. Donations on patreon start at just the price of a coffee a month and if the patreon page takes off I can start looking at patreon exclusive content/rewards.
There’s also ways you can help me out for free and even make some money yourself by doing so. One way I’ve been plugging on social media a lot these last few weeks is by checking your energy prices and earning yourselves £50 in the bargain by switching using my magic link (you must complete the switch using the link and not just get a quote which you come back to later). Octopus energy have 100% green electricity, are a Which recommended supplier and were one of the few suppliers to maintain a full telephone service during the pandemic. They’re a different supplier to the one I was recommending last series and are definitely worth a look as we head into the colder months.
Switching energy suppliers is quick (it takes about 2 minutes to sign up from my link and usually about 3 weeks for the process to complete), there is no interruption to your energy supply, no engineers have to visit and you don’t need to change you meters (unless you sign up to a smart tariff and don’t have a compatible meter). I get £50 from every switch so this does help me out quite a bit.
Don’t forget if you do switch to enter their competition to win an Electric Car. You should see details on how to enter in your account dashboard.
Alternatively you can help me out by doing things as simple as liking all my content, sharing it and getting involved in the discussions on the social networks. This all helps to increase my visibility and get me noticed on those networks and is also appreciated!
