Not feeling it this year. Anyone else?
well….there was some utterly forgettable dancing this week…and some astonishing performances for week 2. I just hope we don’t lose someone with real potential (Joe or Davood, for example) while holding onto others for sentimental reasons.
Outstanding? Debbie and Giovanni…Alexandra and Gorka. Not so much? I don’t think I need to spell it out, really
Jonnie P made me really emotional. The effort he has to put to achieve this.
Jonnie was great, as was Debbie. I think it’ll be Chizzy and Simon in the dance off, even though neither put in terrible performances tonight…
Davood was let down by bad choreography- he doesn’t know the difference and just does what he’s told but his partner isn’t making the most of his potential dancing ability. Don’t treat him like beefcake, let him dance. Susan did well and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her on stage in something, if she can sing. I still have trouble with the ones who have had a lot of prior training, though.
Charlotte and Simon for the dance off, I think. THis week it seemed th e celebs were either brilliant or rubbish. That will all change though. Great night.
I’m not feeling Strictly this year. Hope it improves.
Loved Jonnie’s drive, thought the way he used the blade as his standing leg showed incredible poise and balance. Loving Debbie and Gio’s partnership, and loved Alex and Gorka – a bit wild but incredible attack
Thanks for the results Dave….I was surprised….but then this is Strictly……it really makes me enjoy the Sunday show more knowing what the results are beforehand….so it’s going to be interesting watching the dance off to see why the judges kept Brian…..I like Brian and have seen him live, very funny man…..but I thought Chizzy the better dancer….roll on next Saturday ??
Have they cut the time of the intro videos because they weren’t nearly as annoying as normal? I thought that some of the song choices were unfair for the dances. I’m thinking particularly about Chizzy’s which was a big sassy number to the “Rolls Royce” of dances. I don’t think it’s fair to criticise the celebs for performing the routine they’ve been asked to perform. Sorry Chizzy’s out. She wasn’t my favourite, but she was much easier to watch than some. PERLEEEEEEAAASE everyone, vote off Richard before he becomes the joker in the pack (yes, that’s what he’s there for, but the show is all the worse off for this element – it’s like that whole business of why they think it’s funny that a fall and a dot of creamy Greek style yoghurt blobbed on the nose is somehow funny. Maybe for the 12 year olds in tv production)
To be perfectly honest, I don’t see how the judges will be able to mark Jonnie on his footwork when he’s only got one. Yes, he moves well (and certainly runs faster than I can), yes he’s inspirational, yes there’s a lot of ’emotion’ (ie sympathy?) for him, but maybe there should be a parastrictly, like there’s a paralympics. After all, he’s never going to be criticised for being pigeon-toed, sickle-footed, or leading inappropriately with heel or toe, is he, unlike all the others who’ll have marks deducted for those errors in later stages.
Well Jonnie has two feet, so why can’t he be marked on the other one? So yes he can be criticised for being pigeon-toed, sickle-footed, or leading inappropriately with heel or toe and deducted marks for it as there is nothing wrong with his other foot! Why must there be a parastrictly? There have been disabled people on various international forms of strictly with no problem
