To quote Grumpy Len Goodman it’s week SEVERRRRNNN and there were some fireworks on the dance floor this week. But whose performance rocketed them into week 8 and a step closer to Blackpool in 2 weeks and who just fizzled out? You don’t need to wait until the not live results show to learn the results because the Strictly Spoiler is on hand to give you the information right now. So here are the results:
Ore and Laura had to dance off. The judges saved Ore. Laura was eliminated.

Ore Should of gone out of the bottom two.
Yeah…
This is getting ridiculous that Ed is still in the competition, out of everyone he is the weakest dancer even though he showed a slight improvement this weekend.Although I’m not surprised Laura was in the dance off but it should have been Ed she was against not Ore.
I’ve said it before and I’ll go on saying it….. Strictly is an entertainment show and Ed is entertaining. The show would be worse off without him.
If this was a serious dance competition then all performers would be more or less on a level footing. They would either all be dancers or they would be all beginners. But they are not. How can you compare a 71 year old woman dancing off against a 27 year old with dancing experience? You can’t. What you can do is take everything into account and look at dedication, effort and improvement. Ed is delivering each of these things AND entertainment. (Remember that each of his dances has included a lot of dance content as Len often comments).
Oh and I couldn’t stick Ed when he was a politician. In fact I always used to either switch over or switch off the TV when he was on. Now, as a family (including my two sons, my brother in law and his family and several friends who never watched before), we switch on. (Incidentally I hope that Robert ‘Judge’ Rinder wins).
Completely agree Big D. People need to remember it is a Saturday Night entertainment show. It only usually starts becoming a serious dance competition after Blackpool. I personally will be disappointed if Ed doesn’t make it to Blackpool as he has thoroughly entertained me more than any other perceived comedy contestant
No one who could have won the series has been eliminated this far and what order the middle/bottom order get eliminated in really doesn’t matter too much as long as the right people make the final. Laura clearly didn’t have public support as the amount of times she’s been in the dance off plus her consistent low positions in my regular polls show
All the other contestants on the show are entertaining and have all shown improvement from when they started just like Ed. They are also just as dedicated and work as hard as him but that does not change the fact that he is still the weakest dancer left in the show.
I agree. All the other contestants ARE entertaining, dedicated and hardworking. He is the worst dancer left in the show, that is blatantly obvious.
My point is that he has had no dance experience, physically unfit, hardly lithe and supple, not attended stage school and is the second oldest contestant behind Lesley. He hasn’t treat the experience as a joke which some previous wooden celebs have done but has been serious and showing both the show and the audience great respect. The viewers are obviously responding to that.
If the judges and production staff wanted a ‘serious’ dance competition then they shouldnt and wouldn’t invite such people on the show and it would all be semi professional dancing celebs.
Obviously he won’t win. I know that, you know that and he knows that, but whilst he’s there he’s putting a smile on people’s faces bringing laughter to this old fogey and after a week of gloom and doom at work that’s all I want.
Nail partially on head, Big D. It never ceases to amaze me that a politician like Ed Balls can trash the economy of one of the richest countries in the world yet be lauded for cavorting about like a perfumed monkey on a Saturday night. Eee … there’s nowt as queer as folk 🙂
Aye. But he cavorts so well.
I totally luv luv luv Judge Rinder & I would luv him to win too
One of the best comments I have read, well thought out and in my opinion, very accurate! Not sure who I want to win but Louise and Robert are very likeable.
Not surprised Laura was in the bottom , that dance was all gio and not much Laura , es balls is annoying , but public always keep the joke in as long as possible , I think it should have been Laura and Greg/daisy/ed in the dance off
